Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI): Not Just Buzz Words
Words like “allyship”, “diversity”, and “equity” can too often become the latest buzz word in public health. With our societies becoming more and more diverse ethnically, racially, and societally, it is imperative the public health, academia and other institutions seek to ensure DEI doesn’t become the catch phrase, but instead a guiding principle to support work that leads to the elimination of health disparities, dismantle systemic racism, and reimagine organizational cultures & policies.
